About Dean Burrell
Dean Burrell is a nationally known labor and employment attorney and neutral with expertise gained as a litigator for the National Labor Relations Board, major law firms, and as a senior Fortune 500 labor relations and human resources executive.
Dean Burrell conducts labor and employment arbitration-mediation, fact-finding and workplace investigations. Arbitration and fact-finding panels include the American Arbitration Association, the NJ State Board of Mediation, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Whistleblower Panel, the Phoenix PERB, and the Arizona Department of Education. He is a New Jersey Courts R. 1:40 Qualified Mediator (Roster of Court-Approved Civil Mediators), a qualified mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and has mediated employment discrimination claims for the Arizona State Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Division. He is an EEOC-certified workplace investigator. Dean has taught Labor Law at the Arizona Summit Law School and legal writing at the American University Washington College of Law.
He earned his undergraduate degree at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, a Juris Doctorate from the American University, and an LLM in Labor and Employment Law from the Georgetown University Law Center. Dean Burrell is the immediate past president of the Cornell University School of Industrial Relations Alumni Association, the first alumni of color to hold this position.
